About

Manuel Alejandro Vargas was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico on July 10th 1987. A proud student of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, San Germán with a degree in Graphic Arts & Printing. He moved to the United States to pursue a career in filmmaking, studying at Austin Community College for film and TV production.

He has worked on a number of films, features and commercials as assistant director among other crew positions. His true passion is writing and directing. Manuel Vargas directed Argumento (2018), a drama short film about a young couple having a heated argument, shot entirely in one continuous take. He follow that up with Isabella (2019), about the emotional journey of a young girl dealing with loss for the first time in her life.

He’s currently working on a crime drama mini-series Hall Investigations (2019) with frequent collaborator Christian Sanchez. Hall Investigations tells the story of a young private detective trying to solve the mystery of a missing girl.  He’s also working on his first music video Ghost (2019), about a man who keeps seeing the same woman everywhere he goes. Shot on 16 mm film.
